Calpe is a town on the Costa Blanca coast located 23 km from the bustling town of Benidorm. The town is dominated by Peñón de Ifach which is a huge limestone rock with thriving birdlife. Below it lie the ruins of Pobla de Ifac, a medieval walled village. La Muralla Roja is an iconic castle-like building by modern Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill.
Calpe’s old town still has nice wide avenues where modern buildings and old architecture collide. Calpe is almost three thousand years old and in this area it still retains a sense of history and tradition. Calpe is now a big cosmopolitan town far removed from its origins as a tiny fishing village.
Calpe is popular with tourists and holiday home owners from across Northern Europe. The town has a mix of properties for sale from traditional fisherman’s cottages through to the ultra-modern villas that are being built on the hills inland overlooking the town. The property prices in Calpe are lower than the nearby towns of Altea and Moraira but as would be expected they are more expensive than those in high-rise Benidorm. We have properties in the town available with a Rent To Buy option but due to its popularity we are always looking for new properties to list.
